End Times. The Iron Age. The Kali Yuga. The Setting of the Fourth Sun. The Opening of the Seventh Seal. Every culture has a name for the epoch we are in now. Some (not just Mayan ethnographers) believe that the world, or the "world as we know it" will end in 2012. Others believe this enddate will not arrive until 2020-2025. Some believe the enddate is not an enddate at all, rather a steady and definite descent into chaos, out of which will eventually rise a new civilization, and a new way of being. We at Signs of the Apocalypse subscribe to this view. We also believe that we're on the wrong side of this slope, and the terrain is getting all the more slippery with each passing day.
